A NOTE FROM OUR WINEMAKERS
This wine has plush, cedary oak, bright berry fruits and long, fine tannins; a cracking Coonawarra Cabernet.

THE FINER DETAILS
With aromas of spicy red berry fruits, earthy depth and just a hint of leafiness, this wine is typical of a good young Coonawarra Cabernet. There is fresh forward fruit on the palate with hints of spice and plush oak tannins. This is a medium weight Cabernet that will age well. A good quality mature cheddar cheese would match the tannin on this wine.Download Tasting Notes
Good winter rain set the scene for a good season and there was little frost in spring. A warm summer followed by a perfectly-timed patch of mild days and cool nights in autumn allowed optimal flavour development and excellent natural acidity in Cabernet fruit.
Our vineyard is on the famous terra rossa strip and the vines are aged between 20 and 50 years. This fruit was hand harvested in late April and the must was fermented in overhead fermenters for around 14 days. The wine was matured in French and American hogsheads for 15 months.
