WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE
Limited Edition

The two wines were launched early March during a solo runway show for the opening of VAMFF at Heide Museum that showcased new capsule collections and an exhibition celebrating Gorman’s 10 years collaborating with some of Australia’s most interesting visual artists.
When Lisa Gorman expressed interest in collaborating on a unique wine project we asked our winemaker Pete Dillon, who is based on the Mornington Peninsula, to choose two special parcels of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit for the project.

A NOTE FROM THE WINEMAKERS

“Our 2018 Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir wines have deep colour, juicy fruit flavours and ample fine tannin.”

SERVING TEMPERATURE | 13 - 17°

CELLAR POTENTIAL | Up to 5-7 years

TASTING NOTES

A medium-bodied wine with bright cherry flavours and silky-smooth tannin. It has excellent depth of colour and flavour with a touch of spicy oak complexity.

COLLABORATION

We love building relationships with like-minded businesses and exploring the connections between wine and the creative process. Most of our collaborations happen organically and we’ve been working with both with Heide Museum and Gorman for a number of years.

WINEMAKING

The fruit is from two vineyards to the north of the region, including Handpicked’s flagship Capella Vineyard. The fruit was hand-picked and chilled overnight before being destemmed and sorted by hand. The must was fermented in small open fermenters with hand plunging. The wine was matured for 11 months in a mix of old and new French oak barrels from selected Burgundian coopers.

THE REGION

THE REGION

Mornington Peninsula

A maritime region about 50km south-east of Melbourne. It is surrounded by ocean and the climate is moderated year-round, with cooling ocean breezes in summer and relatively mild winters.

Soils vary from the red volcanic earth on the spine of hills running down the centre of the peninsula to grey clay loams on the plains.
