This wine has aromas of cherry and spicy oak with bright berry fruit flavours, silky tannin and a long finish.
2015 was an excellent vintage in the Yarra Valley. Mild conditions in spring allowed good fruit set and yields were about average. Continuing cool and mild conditions promoted excellent flavour development and retention of fine acid. Wines of 2015 will be remembered for their exceptional balance and cellaring potential.
The fruit was hand harvested in ideal cool, dry conditions in early March. Bunches were destemmed and the must was vinified in open fermenters with hand plunging twice daily. The wine was matured for 11 months in French oak barriques, about 40% new, from a selection of Burgundian coopers.
