Winter is in full swing - the thick wooly socks are out, the heaters are on full blast and everyone’s in hibernation mode; a.k.a endless nights of hot tea and ‘Netflix and Chill’ whilst wrapped on the couch like a burrito.
The comfort of your bed might seem like a great idea and leaving the house a distant memory, but we’ve got something better. Ditch that hot tea for something a little stronger - because Mulled Wine Wednesdays have arrived at the Cellar Door.
We’ll be spicing things up every Wednesday from 5.30pm - 9.30pm. And just between you and me, this alcoholic cup of spiced goodness feels just like a warm hug from nana.

Spice Up Your Life | $9 / Cup (200ml)
Don't want to leave the house?
Make mulled wine at home with our winemaker's recipe - it's quick and simple. Serves 8 (200ml cup)
2x Bottles of Shiraz (Versions by Handpicked Shiraz)
125 grams of vanilla bean sugar
3x cinnamon sticks
1x teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon of peppercorns
1x Orange thinly sliced
1x Lemon thinly sliced
Heat a small amount of wine with sugar, spices and citrus until the sugar dissolves. Add the rest of the wine, heat to just boiling, then allow to simmer for 20 minutes without boiling over*.
Optional: Remove citrus after 15 minutes if you don’t want the citrus rind flavour to be too overpowering.
*Very important: Boiling gets rid of the alcohol and let's be real...There’s no fun in mulled wine without the alcohol.
