2015 was a strong vintage. Mild conditions in spring allowed excellent fruit set and yields were good. Continuing cool and mild conditions promoted good flavour development balanced with fine acid.
To achieve a balance of creamy complexity and fresh fruit flavours, part of the wine was whole bunch pressed and fermented in French oak barrels and part was crushed and fermented in closed tank. About 25% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation. The barrel ferments were matured in the same French oak barriques, a mix of old and new, for 9 months. The remainder was kept in tank at cool temperatures.
