A NOTE FROM OUR WINEMAKERS
This wine is from a single vineyard on the famed ancient soils of Mount Camel and is a great example of what Heathcote does best.

THE FINER DETAILS
With its layers of fruit and earthy complexity, this wine is a fine example of Heathcote Shiraz. It has lifted spicy berry aromas with hints of chocolate and mint. The palate has a mix of berry fruits and savoury spices with smoothly integrated tannin and just enough acidity.Download Tasting Notes
The 2013 vintage in Heathcote was relatively trouble-free and produced excellent wines. Well-timed rainfall provided relief from warm dry conditions.
Set on the eastern slopes of Mount Camel and protected from prevailing westerly winds, this vineyard has three Shiraz clones that were fermented separately. A small portion was fermented with whole bunches to add aromatic lift. The wine was aged in a mix of old and new oak barriques, predominantly French, for 15 months.
